Bugyotsuji Posted Wednesday at 02:12 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:12 AM ¥150, but the date of 26 must be… Meiji 26??? (1893) Not Showa 26, 1951…(?) Quote
Hector Posted Wednesday at 02:14 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:14 AM Can't be Showa 26 as that's 1951, when sword making was still banned by the American occupation. Quote
Hector Posted Wednesday at 02:21 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:21 AM I think the printed line to the right of the date reads "The receipt has been confirmed by Sho Seiji (or Shōseiji)." Quote
Nobody Posted Wednesday at 02:24 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:24 AM It is a receipt issued by the Board of Education in 1951 to Mr. Fuse Takashi in Tsuwano cho. The price is 150 JPY as the registration fee of swords. 6 1 1 Quote
Hector Posted Wednesday at 02:45 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 02:45 AM Mr. Moriyama knocks it out of the ballpark again! I'm surprised that swords could be bought and sold in 1951 considering the restrictions placed by General Headquarters. 😮 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted Wednesday at 03:10 AM Author Report Posted Wednesday at 03:10 AM Thank you all for you assistance, it's accompanied by a Torokusho for 1953 in I believe Toyama Prefecture so 1951 makes sense. 3 Quote

There is no indication of buying or selling them. 6 Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted Thursday at 03:13 AM Author Report Posted Thursday at 03:13 AM Thank you all again for your assistance, the registration came in this envelope. It's interesting to see an early registration certificate, and that it was first registered in Shimane Prefecture followed by Toyama prefecture. 2 Quote
