ribendao Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 Got this “Tanto” in a knife lot from an estate sale. To my novice eyes it looks like a legit hamon. I am unable to remove the handle without destroying it. Would like some other opinions please. thanks! Quote
ribendao Posted August 2 Author Report Posted August 2 It came with another small knife that fits together when sheathed. I think the small one is obviously a machine made acid etched hamon blade. I’m theorizing it is a tourist souvenir that was made from a nihonto and a machined blade sometime in the Meji or Taisho era. Anyone think my theory holds any water? Quote
Rawa Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 Show us tsuka. It have mekugi? Looks like belt grinded. Someone was posting once how they make hamon using belt. Quote
