Popular Post Tengu1957 Posted July 14 Popular Post Report Posted July 14 Please excuse me if this is not the category for this but it's a Japanese weapon Kanabo -Samurai war club from the Yamagata region 153 cm 4.5 kilos Made from wood with an iron ring and the upper half covered in iron with studs. Other than seeing them in woodblock prints I can't remember reading about units like Nagamaki groups being used tactically. If anyone has a good reference please point me to it. Quote

Saw one of these for sale at an Japanese antiques fair a year or two back. Seriously tempted, but two things stayed my hand. 1. It was more than I was willing to pay, although I remember debating whether to make a run to a cash machine anyway. 2. Without some clever packing, it wouldn't have fitted into my suitcase. 1 Quote
