Roanoker494 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I purchased this sword several years ago and was told it was a ww2 era sword. Since that time someone looked at the markings on the tang and said he thought it may be much older than ww2. Thank you Johnnie Watkins Quote

Roanoker494 Posted March 3, 2010 Author Report Posted March 3, 2010 seems im the hit man lately,,,,sorry is a chinese knock off. not true Nihonto. Sorry to hear that myself, do not pay much for it though and it is a nice looking piece. Is there any way to determine age on this sword? Is there any value to a Chinese piece? Thank you Johnnie Watkins Quote
Grey Doffin Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Jonnie, The age is yesterday or possibly slightly earlier. It has no true collectible value, only what someone who wants a sharp, shiny object sitting around will pay. Grey Quote

Here is a picture of the Tsuba, it is pretty niffy looking. Quote
Jean Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Johnnie, Awfull tsuba. Go to Aoi-Art web site. You will have at your disposal fantastic scans of all things related to Nihonto From daito to fittings ... http://www.aoi-art.com/ After looking at all this picture you won't mistake again. The surest thing to do is to post on NMB and get a feedback before making your move. Quote
