Mountain Man Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 Please excuse if this is not the proper place to post this question. I am trying to identify a sword my father brought back as a trophy from the Pacific after WW II. I also want to find out how to get it refurbished. I absolutely no idea where to start. The sword is located in the US, but I live in Norway. I want to get it refurbished before importing it to Norway as it is subject to an import permit. Please see attached photo. I am not 100% sure this is Japanese, but since my father was involved in transporting Japanese POWs from the Philippines after the war, I cannot think of what else it might be. Quote
Leen Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 Hello Daniel, can’t tell you what it is. It is however not Japanese. kind regards, Leen. 2 Quote
Brian Posted July 11, 2024 Report Posted July 11, 2024 Definitely not Japanese. Maybe Thai or Burma or Philippines. 4 Quote
BANGBANGSAN Posted July 15, 2024 Report Posted July 15, 2024 Agree with Leen &Brain, it's not a Japanese sword. It looks like from a southeast Asia country. 1 Quote
