Ed Posted May 13, 2023 Report Posted May 13, 2023 Looking for a small hamidashi tsuba in suaka copper for a project. Dimensions of approximately 1.75" (0.069mm) X 1.25" (0.049mm) X 0.1875" (0.0074mm). With or without the kozuka cutout as seen in the provided example. No motif or embellishment required, in fact I would prefer a plain smooth finish. Something like this iron piece only in suaka. If you have something like this, please contact me via the email address below. Thanks, Ed Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 13, 2023 Report Posted May 13, 2023 Ed, with these given dimensions, you will probably not be able to see the desired TSUBA with the naked eye..... If I am not wrong, 1.75" corresponds to 44,4 mm. Quote

It is for a small tanto and I know exactly what I want. It should barely protrude outside the width of the seppa, no more than 0.25" or 6.3mm. (see attached). Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 17, 2023 Report Posted May 17, 2023 Ed, it wasn't a typo, you only miscalculated inch into mm. The mm-hight of the wanted TSUBA was corresponding to the "average diameter of a human hair"i I understand perfectly that you need a small HAMIDASHI TSUBA. I found some on the i-net, but my first go would be to check our dealers here on the NMB forum. It might not be easy to find such a small TSUBA; the smallest that came up was 50,7 mm high. 1 Quote
