SwordGuyJoe Posted June 19, 2009 Report Posted June 19, 2009 Looks pretty decent to me. Only a few flaws that I found, but still a good blade and the koshirae seems to be nice too. Quote
Gunome Posted June 20, 2009 Report Posted June 20, 2009 Hi, Just looks carefully the boshi. It looks like very near to the ha at the top of the kissaki ... not good for next polish Otherwise looks good :D Seb Quote
kanetoyo Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Hi all It's mine sword. Yes, 2dai Muneshige. Nakamura Quote
Weidas Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 i apologize for late reply - was on business trip and few days with limited access to internet. thank you All for your comments. Mr. Nakamura, pleased to know you Quote
Weidas Posted June 26, 2009 Author Report Posted June 26, 2009 Dear All, while digging on all possible resources about Muneshige, i found several examples, including one, posted here by Mr. Jacques. After closer examination of this current sword and wakizashi i have i noted differences in mei and location of mei. I don't mean any offence or something like that... but could this sword appear to be gimei? In that case, i believe, my wakizashi would be gimei too... kindly ask you for opinion of experts as much as it is possible to decide from pictures.. examples on internet: http://www.japanszwaard.nl/Z-N1.html http://www.samuraishokai.jp/sword/08147.html http://muso.mud.pl/miecz_elem_10.htm mei of mine is attached. once again, meaning no offence - i truly wish i'm wrong... kanetoyo Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Hi I offer the photograph of the right mei. Maybe, Your sword is gimei. Nakamura Quote
Weidas Posted June 27, 2009 Author Report Posted June 27, 2009 that's exactly what i'd like to know, Mr. Nakamura Quote
kanetoyo Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Hi Yasurime of your sword is correct. Also nakago-jiri is correct. However,The kanji characters of kami and shige differ. Please observe the direction of tagane carefully. Also Rust condition of nakago is not good. Anyway, 100% of a conclusion is not obtained without seeing a sword. Nakamura Quote
Jacques Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Hi, A true Tokubestsu hozon Muneshige here, the sword shown by Nakamura san "seems" gimei too. Quote
kanetoyo Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 Mr Jacques D I did not offer a photograph, in order to receive the criticism of my sword. I think that the atmosphere of "deki" of a sword and mei and the direction of tagane are important. You denied my gassan sadakazu with NBTHK hozon and NTHK kanteisho before. I never forget it. And I do not accept your opinion. I am a Japanese, and the right and wrong of a Kanji character can understand me with feeling. Quote
Stephen Posted June 27, 2009 Report Posted June 27, 2009 I think we need a poll, who wants a moratorium on ppl just out and out calling someone's sword gimei? Its getting old. Quote
