Quote

Are they swords from the past (antiques?) https://giheiya.com/ ? 1) да 2) да 3) Изглежда, че е такаТака изглежда 4) Възрастта е посочена в описанието на уеб страницата Това е само моето мнение Quote 1) yes 2) yes 3) It seems so 4) The age is indicated in the description of the website This is just my opinion 1 Quote
Bushidodojoaikido Posted April 6, 2022 Author Report Posted April 6, 2022 Do you know why they have cheaper katanas than aoiart or other Japanese online dealers? Quote
David Flynn Posted April 7, 2022 Report Posted April 7, 2022 I believe Atsuo San is genuine. I've bought 2 swords from him at the DTI. I'm led to believe Tsurita San is not allowed to attend. Also, the way he does his photo's tends to cover some imperfections. Saying that, I have bought from Aoi Art, but not from photo's. Once one is getting into the more expensive area of collecting, one can't go past holding the sword in ones hand. If the dealer guarantees the ability to return (without a re-stocking fee) and post isn't a problem, then buying from photo's isn't so bad. Now, also one must really know what one is looking at. 4 Quote
Toryu2020 Posted April 7, 2022 Report Posted April 7, 2022 Mostly Shinto, Shinshinto and Gendaito no big name Koto pieces listed. So I would think you're just seeing the mid-range... -tch Quote

Jussi Ekholm Posted April 8, 2022 Report Posted April 8, 2022 Hello Gabriel! If possible and the event happens, Japan Art Expo would be in the Netherlands again this summer. I would recommend visiting the event. Giheiya was at the event in 2018, and they had nice selection of various modern swords for martial arts use. I looked at few in their booth and chatted a bit with the staff. It is a rare chance in Europe to see several modern Japanese swords at the same time. 2 1 Quote
