We are ready to take my Japanese items to the museum tomorrow and the opening details are below

Exhibition at Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery

2nd April – 22nd May 2022

TSUBA

From samurai warrior to status symbol

Working with a local Bedworth collector, Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery is creating its first ever exhibition of Samurai artefacts. The display will focus on Japanese sword guards, which are called tsuba in Japanese.  These are the part of the sword that protects the holder’s hand from the blade. The exhibition will show their decorative development from the warring period to more peaceful times. Designs range from the portrayal of war and myths to depictions of animals and plants.
