Ken-Hawaii Posted January 7, 2022 Report Posted January 7, 2022 A retired collector friend just acquired a blade with mei Minamoto Ju Yoshimune Saku He says it's "extreme quality, flawless, 28-1/2 inches." He asked me to post this photo, & ask if anyone has come across either a gimei or shoshin blade by this smith. Quote
Ray Singer Posted January 7, 2022 Report Posted January 7, 2022 HI Ken, there have been several of these posted recently on FB which appeared identical. They looked very much like Komonjo-type fakes. I would strongly suggest that this may be the same. Best regards, Ray 2 Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted January 7, 2022 Author Report Posted January 7, 2022 Thanks, Ray. I think this is why he's worried he bought a gimei blade. Quote

I was amazed to see 2-3 of these identical fakes show up in the group I manage within the same week. Someone is running a Yoshimune factory... 3 Quote
