yogoro Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Dear all! This is my new tsuba signed Hitoshi Hideki ? I have tried to translate this mei . First two kanji is ITTOKU third ? ? ? next two Hitoshi ? Please translation assistance Thank's Mikolaj Quote
John A Stuart Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Although noted for my blindness, I believe this is signed Ittokusai Hideyoshi. I think this is a good tsuba and if the mei is legit a student of Omori Teruhide, John Quote
Mark Green Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 That is soooo! sweet bro. Mark G Quote
John A Stuart Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I was just checking the older version Kinko Meikan and there is a pic of this mei. The thing is it is your exact tsuba, without a doubt. page 377d John Quote
yogoro Posted February 26, 2009 Author Report Posted February 26, 2009 Thanks John for your help ! Now all is clear . Hideyoshi or Hideki . Haynes also listed name Hideyoshi H01219 , f.n. Sakai , student of Omori Teruhide . Mikolaj Quote
Brian Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 John, Are you saying this exact tsuba is pictured in the Kinko Meikan? If so..that is quite a find Mikolaj! Anyone able to post the pic from the Meikan? Brian Quote

Brian Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Yep..same tsuba. Congrats Mikolaj. I assume you knew that when purchasing it? Brian Quote
yogoro Posted February 27, 2009 Author Report Posted February 27, 2009 I knew that this tsuba is good and artist Hitoshi Hideki was noted in metalwork art book. This tsuba is birthday suprise from my older brother and was purchased a few weeks ago. My brother is rather ignorand in Japanese art. Quote
