GRC Posted October 26, 2021 Report Posted October 26, 2021 I recently picked up this "dramatic swirl" mokume tsuba with sukashi of three snowflakes. It was labeled as "Shoami" but that just didn't seem right to me. I can't figure out the mei, even though it just has two characters. Anyway, my gut feeling about the tsuba tells me "Myochin". It is very dark, almost black like the last two photos, and quite glossy, and a smooth flowing surface almost like it was melted. It's actually pretty hard to take good pictures of it lol. Can anyone give me a hand with this one? Thanks! 1 Quote
Vermithrax16 Posted October 26, 2021 Report Posted October 26, 2021 Kuninaga made excellent mokume works. Often with cool cut out patterns. Looks nice. Quote
GRC Posted October 26, 2021 Author Report Posted October 26, 2021 Thanks! I really appreciate the help. And so quick too! The swirl of this mokume almost makes me think of some wicked winter storm, and hence the connection to the snowflakes maybe? Regardless, I'm super happy with this one 1 Quote
