Winchester Posted July 9, 2021 Report Posted July 9, 2021 Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to find a high quality stand for displaying / storing swords on a desk? I am a new collector and embarrassed due to having a basic stand from Amazon. I have some Elk antlers I was thinking about having a local artist make into a stand for one sword, but really would like something of quality, sturdy, and so forth. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. Where did you buy or where would you recommend? Quote
Jwrussell Posted July 9, 2021 Report Posted July 9, 2021 Do a quick search for DISPLAY in the search bar and you'll find lots of results. Plenty of options out there, mostly depends on your budget. 1 Quote
ChrisW Posted July 9, 2021 Report Posted July 9, 2021 For mine, I made mine using a premade wall-mounted 3 sword display rack and mounted it to some sturdy timber. Painted it with a nice matte black paint and adhered some felt with hot glue to the inner loops and it now comfortably holds my blades without issue. Its very simple and not too pretty, but its utilitarian and let's the blades be the center of attention. I know you can find some very nice antique ones on eBay and various antique furniture sites. 1 Quote
ken kata Posted July 10, 2021 Report Posted July 10, 2021 Hi Brian.. I am not in business, but, for my swords, I do make my own Display Stands. Non Traditional.. Distressed.. Wabi Sabi https://kenkata.weebly.com/ You might think of / make your own personal taste/style for your Swords.. 2 Quote
Winchester Posted July 10, 2021 Author Report Posted July 10, 2021 Thanks for the replies, Gents. I found some on eBay that are antique, but would hold the sword vertically (?). From Edo period. The more I think about it, unless there is a good source to buy already fabricated displays, I am going to make something myself and likely ask an artist friend for input. Quote

Those are Tachi Kake. Try searching Katana Kake (katanakake). 1 Quote
