Guest nickn Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 does anyone have a mei to compare? Quote
Brian Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Hi Nick, Work looks good, but not sure if gimei or not. There is quite a bit on the forum on Shozui. Do a search and you should pull up a few pages. Try this one for Curran's papered ones: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2856&p=20342 Also here and here Big name..good luck, however unless mindblowing these are seldom shoshin. However yours does have an interesting construction indeed. Brian Quote
Guest nickn Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 the syle ,especially the back ground, subject and mei look good to me Quote
John A Stuart Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 Here is an example, but, is not an impressed seal. John Quote
Bungo Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 " big name " like " Masayuki " is best submit to NBTHK shinsa ( not any oversea shinsa ) if the quality is there. We can compare mei stroke for stroke but.................. Looks good to me and i didn't have any milt Quote
Guest nickn Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 would the fuchi pass shinsa in its altered state? Quote
Bungo Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 I am not sure if they will pass if mounted on a tsuka. milt Quote
Guest nickn Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 milt i mean the added ,for want of the proper words, detachable collars nick Quote
Bungo Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 milti mean the added ,for want of the proper words, detachable collars nick the detachable collar is part of the fuchi, it'll not affect the outcome. As a matter of fact, i have a Goto single fuchi with a " detachable " too, not papered YET. p.s. the signed one has no detachable collar but design is identical with similar workmanship ( hence I called the mumei one Goto school ) milt Quote
Guest nickn Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 i assumed the collars had been added hence the cut out for the mei and if you look at the indent where the kozuka would fit the collar overlaps making it redundant Quote
