autodex Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 Hello, Well I finally was able to acquire a Nihonto Katana (that I could afford) I have owned various Wak's and Tantos so I am excited to share with the group and would welcome any opinions. It's a Efu jyu NobuShige dated 1864. According to Hawley he is rated a 10 smith (Gendai started at 8 apparently) active from 1864-1865. Source Rating Reference NOB467. Nihon Toko Jiten rates him as Chu Saku Specs are: Blade Full length 97.5cm Temper length 74.3cm Sori 1.1cm Hole 2 Widith 3.4cm The Blade is signed Efu jyu Minamoto Nobushige tsukuri/Bunkyu 4 koushi nen 2 gatsu nichi NBTHK Hozon Steven 2 Quote
