SAS Posted December 1, 2018 Report Posted December 1, 2018 Oh yeah....because they can cut through machine gun barrels..... Quote
vajo Posted December 1, 2018 Report Posted December 1, 2018 Cutting is physics. Speed, weight and hardness. Gun barrels around 1940 rockwell between 55 and 57. Ha katana rockwell > 65 Modern M60 gun barrels rockwell 57 - 58 + I dont know the exact translation for "Kerbwirkung" notch effect? Machine gun barrels are weak hardnend because they should not break. Is a cutting possible? Under certain circumstances, maybe. Forget all the TV-Tests. Think on a heat glowing machine gun barrel. And now think on hot steel which is folded with a hammer. Its like butter. Quote

Honestly the right sword, using your points, and a desperate swordsman with a burning desire in his heart and proper technique... I think it could be done. Quote
