schmera92 Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 Found in an attic in the 1950’s. I’ve been trying to research with no luck. Any information would be great. Is it a Katana or Tachi? Thanks Sarah S. Quote
Ray Singer Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 Perhaps 備前國助平 (Bizen [no] kuni Sukehira). If this is correct, I would say gimei (false signature) 1 Quote

Katsujinken Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 Perhaps 備前國助平 (Bizen [no] kuni Sukehira). If this is correct, I would say gimei (false signature) Indeed, there is the Shinshinto Sukehira, but his title was Ise no Kami according to Connoisseur’s. Also, something about the top of the nakago here is strange to me. Why is the end of the corrosion so straight and uniform? Here are some signatures of the Shinshinto Sukehira: http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/8708-bizen-yokoyama-sukehira-oshigata-wanted/ http://www.militaria.co.za/nmb/topic/14612-sukehira-translation-help-please/ Quite different regardless of the title.
