Randy McCall Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Very short notice, but I just found this auction where a 1763 (Horeki 12) scroll listed as being Honami work will come up for final bidding July 18, on Yahoo.jp. Condition is poor to fair: aged, stained, wear, tears, areas of surface medium missing so some images compromised. 963 cm x 28 cm. Early bidding is relatively brisk, at 11,500¥ As of time of posting. http://page2.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/b211771571 3 Quote
Brian Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 That would be a very good pickup if someone ends up with it. Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted July 17, 2016 Report Posted July 17, 2016 If it wasn't so ripped-up, I could run it through my scanner, & would end up with a lovely long JPG file. But who wants to see bug crap at 300 dots/inch? Ken 1 Quote
DirkO Posted July 18, 2016 Report Posted July 18, 2016 Just missed out on it, I had my eyes on it from day one. Dated 1762, it's not by the Hon'ami, but by someone from the Onakatomi (ancient royal family) who accompanied his master to the shogun for two years and was allowed to make a copy of the original Hon'ami scrolls. He also states this advanced his studies greatly. You can also see the water stains he faithfully copied. Not a bad study item, and I'm disappointed I didn't get it, due to being on holiday with limited connectivity. A big thank you to Marcus for helping with the translation! 2 Quote
k morita Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Hi,Randy san, Thank you for the Link.I am too late to notice this thread and the scroll. Very regrettable. I saw Kousai-Nagamitsu by line drawing for the first time on this scroll. 4 Quote
