manfrommagnum Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 I am thinking something out near Naperville that is both a study group and social group. Meet monthly? Thoughts? Quote
b.hennick Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 Good luck with forming a club. I would start off with 3-4 meetings a year and see how it works. 12 presentations is a lot. Our club in Toronto has about that number sometimes more. People are away both winter and summer. Snowy weather makes travel difficult. Quote
manfrommagnum Posted March 9, 2016 Author Report Posted March 9, 2016 Im thinking about more that just presentations. I am thinking a social club as well. One meeting can be just for mismatched fuchi "exchange" followed by a sake tasting. Book reviews/ trades / info exchange. Vote each month to determine what to do next month. Mike Quote
manfrommagnum Posted March 9, 2016 Author Report Posted March 9, 2016 Let's see if we can get more people interested at the sword show. I could host the first. Quote
Stephen Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Jason started one via Face Book and seemed to do well, just a idea https://www.facebook.com/groups/740958196003380/ Quote
Ken-Hawaii Posted March 14, 2016 Report Posted March 14, 2016 Running a word club/society takes a lot of time, Michael, & needs more than one or two people to support it. Otherwise, people will quickly lose interest, & either drop out, or show up infrequently. Not an easy task. Ken Quote
