general_piffle Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 Hi, I've recently purchased what I believe to be an Omura Kaboku katana. It's NBTHK papered / certified but the authenticity of its signature has been queried so I'd like some second opinions from any resident experts. Please have a look and see what you think, thanks: Quote
SAS Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 I think it boils down to whose opinion you want to believe.....assuming the certificate is valid. Check with the certifying body to see if the certificate number matches their records if you are concerned. Quote

SteveM Posted October 3, 2015 Report Posted October 3, 2015 There is a slight mistake on the certification papers 治郎左衛門 → should be 治部左衛門 1 Quote
