cabowen Posted March 21, 2015 Report Posted March 21, 2015 Notice the attention paid to finishing the nakago-all the Kato smiths were first rate craftsman. This sword would look a lot better with a real polish... Quote

george trotter Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Thanks for sharing that pic Notice the attention paid to finishing the nakago-all the Kato smiths were first rate craftsman. This sword would look a lot better with a real polish... AAARGH! I was just thinking how nice it was to see a hamon instead one of those awful hadori frosty wavy thingies. Seriously Chris, i can see why you like the Kato smiths. Is this Sanekuni the one that should? be read Masakuni? I agree with you on the preference for a neatly finished nakago...I had the chance to buy a quite good RJT blade a couple of weekends ago (by Miwa Kanetomo of Seki , pupil of Kojima Kanemichi) but couldn't bring myself to buy as it had an awful "Seki" style mei ...almost like a nakarishimei). Kiyoshi san, Thanks for posting that pic, very interesting. regards, Quote
