reeder Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Thanks for posting here as well. I hope no one is duped into purchasing this blade. 2 Quote
Kronos Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 That looks remarkably good for something made in China. As you say still plenty of issues but thats close enough to fool a lot of people. Quote
raaay Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 Hi Thomas I do not think I have ever seen a Mantetsu blade that did not have a suguha hamon, lets hope that's correct and they haven't figured that one out yet. Ray Quote
lonely panet Posted March 12, 2015 Report Posted March 12, 2015 I like this thread, an chinese made copying of a sword that was made in china 60-70 year earler. do these people have a soul? but they do have a good sence of humour. looks clay tempered too. regards H Quote
obiwanknabbe Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 The easy catch is the date. ALL Mantetsu swords use the zodiacal dating system. This one does not. Also it is lacking the outward, diamond shaped, flaring of the mune above the boshi (i do not know the actual term if someone can clue me in). Kurt k Quote
Johnny Barracuda Posted March 13, 2015 Report Posted March 13, 2015 Thanks for the information. Being less knowledgeable than some of the expert board members, I have a very basic criterion: if the sword is sold from China, I assume it is a fake. 1 Quote
