Reversed itomaki on a kaigunto

Just got a kaigunto with Reversed wrapped ito and menuki ,anyone seen that before?

Itomaki is not newly done.

The leather lock clip thrugh the tsuba is reversed.

I have tryed too turn tsuba and seppas, but they only fit one way.

If it helps, somewhere on site, there is a thread about reversed positioning of menuki.

 

Exponents of Yagyu Ryu used reversed menuki (At least according to the sellers of Iai-To koshirae.......) .

Also the knots on the ito are reversed ,its not only the menukies like the Yagyu Ryu sword.

Many people like gyaku-menuki not just Yagyu swordsmen.

 

If everything is reversed then the owner clearly considered his sword a tachi and wore it that way...

not unheard of,and a nice point of difference.

Compared with a katana it matches , but as tachi it dosnt.
