    Hi Frank, Like Trystan and Jean said; on the tang of you sword seems to be written 城州 住 國重 which means Joshu Ju Kunishige. He is the maker (smith) of your sword. (Maybe somebody knows some more about him here.) That is what I understand from the above. Kind regards

    @Nobody Thank you very much! Could this be related to a NCO WW2 sword maybe used on a Japanese Navy fuel depot? It was a bad replacement sword probably made outside Japan and the tag came with the sword. A private from the 2/28 Australian Infantry Battalion came home with it. Here are some pictures.
