  1. If you want the ultimate answer: the english Token Bijutsu Nr. 28 page 26 - 29. Kanzan Token Kyoshitsu: Takanoha and Kesho-yasuri.
  2. From the DTI catalogue
  3. All you need to learn is how to avoid reflections. The rest is easy then.
  4. @ Lukrez First of all: Yamanaka did not write about swords as Art. Or at least not in the Newsletter. There are only a few articles about this subject. For instance Ogasawara Nobuo: 'Technologie, Schönheit und geistiger Hintergrund des japanischen Schwertes" ( Technology, beauty and spirituell background of the Japanese sword) And "Meito = Woran erkennen wir ein Meisterwerk?". Helge Eicken: "Annäherung an die Kunst des japanischen Schwertes" plus "Der Hamon als zeichnerisches Element". But those articles are not very helpful when it comes to the question why a Japanese sword is art. So, Paul Allman is way above those articles. The best you can find.
  5. Many of the questions were asked a long time ago. And sometimes you got a very good answer. I only have a small book by Paul R. Allman "Das Bild im Bilde - Die Natur der Schönheit und das japanische Schwert als eine der feinen Künste". Translated into german in 1981. So, somewhere must be the english original. The best explanation about why a japanases sword is High Art.
  6. Occam's razor: what is it? I created a dark spot with Photoshop to fool everybody Rai hada Sumi hada Tekkogane Shingane Choose wisely.

Okay, Morikuni is not in the Token Bijutsu, not in the english Token Bijutsu, not in Meito Zukan and in the Shinto Hen. How can he be then one of the best Edo swordsmiths if no one knows about him?
  13. Something about the mei and how it is cut...
  14. I scanned the booklet and I have it as a PDF. Can´t post it here: 38,27 MB Was für ein Schmarrn!
  15. Dear Jacques, Just to be clear: I didn't downvoted you. On the other hand there was no useful information from your side over the past few weeks. Only mocking people. Quit pro quo.
  16. There is not much to say about it. It is a Japanese sword with a signature. The signature doesn't match the others and the work is different to the sword I posted. The second Yasuhiro looks like the first one. That's it.
  17. Token Bijutsu 715 = Bitchu no Kami Tachibana Tomiichi Yasuhiro Meireki 3 (1657)
  18. Dear Tim, Please compare the hamon and the tang with a real Kanesada. Unfortunately it doesnt match. Even if it is Mino related my guess would go to Shinto Jumyo.
  19. The blade would be interesting to see.
  20. Kasen Kanasada
  21. I can´t remember a Masamune with an o-kissaki. Shizu?
  22. You are an adult, you can go alone to the restroom and so you can make your own decisions. You dort need an advice. All I want to say is that when you want to resale you will have problems to get half of what you pay now.
