Bought this edo period waki in koshirae for 880. Its mumei, and id like to see what school or smith it is attributed to. Is around 20 inches in length.

Btw there are no stamps on the nakago. However kanemichi seems to have a longer signature then what is present on the nakago, hence the confusion

I asked him that as well, and according to him his school of shinkendo only allows traditionally made blades. Also asked for more proof, and am currently awaiting a reply. I still kinda think it's a steel mill showato, so I am pricing it as such.

Im interested in selling my gendaito(as original owner of the sword claims) signed "Kanemichi." I am selling it as I need some training materials that i could use the money from the sale to purchase. Comes with 2 tsuka cores, one partially carved by cottontail customs, and the other is wrapped in black silk by namikawa. Also comes with a hand carved tsuba by Stef's Tosogu, and the tsuba which was originally on it. Hello, I'm a college student who is relatively new to Japanese swords and martial arts(2 years). Have 11 years experience in Tangsoodo, 1.5 years in kendo, and only around half a year in yagyu shinkage ryu

Am in the process of purchasing my first "nihonto". Rewrapped mill steel gendaito with signature kanemichi. 26 inches long, am getting it with the original koshirae, as well as a rewrap done by cottontail customs. Also comes with a hand carved tsuba from Stef tosogu. Pretty excited, and plan on using it as a nicer sword(definitely not beater) for batto. Seller is waiting to receive it back from Josh at cottontail, so in the meantime, is there any info about kanemichi? Doesn't seem to be much written on him
