  1. The menuki on the omote side is actually staggered compared to the one on the ura side and goes underneath the following diamond. I'm assuming it was a request by the person who commissioned the koshirae as on basic katatemaki, depending on how you hold the sword the menuki can stab into your fingers as you swing the sword. With it staggered like this that doesn't happen. It's an issue I have with my custom bugei shobu
  2. Looking to get more shinshinto swords into my collection, and while my fujiwara Yukinaga daito is a very nice sword, I'm more of a fan of the late Edo rather than the early Edo historically. Here's stats for the blade: Nagasa: 69cm Motokasane: 8.1mm Sakikasane: 5.5mm Sorii: 2cm Motomohaba: 3.4cm Sakimihaba: 2.2cm Signed fujiwara Yukinaga, no papers. Beautiful hamon, extremely clear jihada. Extremely sharp. Some surface scratches, but overall in great polish. Comes with Edo period koshirae with a beautiful dragon motif tsuba. Also comes with shirasaya and tsunagi, as well as a sword bag. I'm specifically looking for to trade it for a shinshinto piece with a nagasa between 68cm-72cm in koshirae. Don't care if it's mumei, obviously doesn't need papers as the piece I'm offering doesn't have papers. Id say the trade value for the sword is between _____ and _____ More photos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/uGiyTqbsDdjHQ931A
  3. Not to offend, but with this statement in mind, wouldn't masahide's accounts of breakage in shinto art swords disprove this notion? Also to draw a comparison to cars; there are cars that are beautiful and fast, and there are cars that are just fast. One doesn't necessarily mean the other
  4. Thanks! Honestly this was the info I was looking for. Couldn't find anything online describing his style
  5. Already have shinto-shi. For some reason Markus only states that Yukinaga existed and his swords apparently cut well, which honestly is not much to go off of.
  6. Recently picked up a fujiwara Yukinaga daito, and for a ryowazamono Smith with relatively high ratings there's oddly next to no info on him. Besides the obvious "it's because he's a bungo Smith," are there any other reasons for this? Or perhaps I'm not looking in the right places.
  7. honestly pretty good deal
  8. uploaded better pics to the linked photo album, compressing them right now to upload here
  9. Will do, planning on posting better pics when the weather improves where Im at.
  10. Due to money problems, ill be selling my mumei kodachi in handachi fittings. The blade is mumei, as well as ubu, with features that make me and others who have looked at it believe to be yamato sue tegai school. I have used this for kenjutsu for the past couple months, and it handles excellently. Has not been cut with, has not had any blade on blade contact, has only been oiled with choji. Very nice koshi sorii, as well as very little kizu present on the blade surface. Mounts are most likely late edo, and in excellent condition. The koshirae alone could be sold for around 800 dollars. Blade is most likely from the 1550s-1560s, and would be worth getting it papered. Saya has kogatana ana, and is in remarkably good condition with only a very minor cosmetic crack on the mune side of the koiguchi, and some light marks near the kojiri. Stats: Nagasa: 21 inches Sorii: ~1 inch Hada: Masame Boshi: Hakikake Hamon: Hoso Suguha with hotsure Photos: https://photos.app.g...gl/f34sJreAgUn93oca8 Selling for an affordable 1300 shipped. Pm me with offers or if interested. Great beginner piece

  13. More stats: 8mm munemachi 6.4mm sakikasane 30mm motohaba 19mm sakihaba ko kissaki
  14. Re increase price to 2k. Not in as much of a rush to sell it since i found funds to pay for motohara downpayment elsewhere. However again I will consider offers, so feel free to send some over even if you think it might be a little low.
  15. price lowered to 1600
  16. item off hold, price returned to 2k. Added better pics of the sugata, as well as pics of the blade in shirasaya and videos of the blade.
  17. On hold, if sale goes through price will be returned to 2k
