Hi, what does the other side of the blade show? IMO (guess) this was initially a dinner knife, using a kozuka as handle. The knife appears to be electroplated “EP over A” which would be suitable to eat with.

Not much to say, except the fittings seems decent.

Just a small detail I have read once..drawing in a boshi is called something like Katachi Tsuke and there are several ways to do it. It is an art, and its value is highly regarded.

Well, hypothetically, if there is a hagire in EVERY single one of the choji parts of the hamon then I am trying to understand how that particular thing would have happened…so someone just beat the Christmas out of it?? Or did TIME do its damage? It just seems odd if ALL of them have a break. I am utterly trying to understand a situation where the entire swords’ hamon becomes brittle and all of its main characteristics seem to have failed all at the same time. Regards

Hello to you who respond to my query. a hypothetical question: if you found a wakizashi, and the nakago indicates that it was cut down by a smith and then he re-signed it as such stating he did the suriage, but the blades hamon (that is a match for the original maker) has several hagire in the choji features….what do you think happened?? (Hypothetically, let’s say the signature of the smith who did the suriage is a famous smith himself). Any thoughts are welcome and thank you

Hello, I am waiting for Dan to message me back about sending this to Shinsa in Orlando. It does have the correct shape, I will attach and Sugata pic. The first pic I posted here: the upper is a papered 2nd Gen Muramasa (#2 katana on old muramasa.us site) and the hamon of mine seems pretty much the same. I have many pictures of the hamon on this to share if you wish. It’s wonderful fun! I also understand there are several lines to follow here but I am doing my own research prior to its first Shinsa, wondering what will be the determination, etc etc. I have shared this with Ray Singer s well…wanting some opinions but not resisting anyone. Regards for your time and spirit.

🤣🤣, not what I was meaning overall. My apologies for not being clear 🙇‍♂️ I would like to note the hamon is also similar. And the numbering of the gunome seems similar. I am studying the Muramasa line and this blade seems to fit into that however it appears to be an unknown smith in the Masa line, from my study so far. Too many similarities to ignore. thank you for the it time.

Good afternoon everyone, I came across a nice little 54cm elegant little katana/chiisa blade in shirasaya. I have attacheda pic..this one is interesting to say the least. It has a fabulous hada and sparkle. My blade is the lower of the two, the upper I got from the old muramasa.us website. regards
