    Shikkake Tachi

Beautiful tachi. Here are some pictures of my Shikkake for comparison. Also Tokubetsu Hozon, unfortunately no sayagaki.
  2. Don't know if this fits in here : Musashi Koku Jyu Kaneko Sandai Taro Minamoto Sukehide special order katana in bizen sanmai construction.
  3. Don't know much about this one, but very capturing.
  4. My first impression : 廣平作 - Hirohira saku I personally don't know this smith and i might be wrong. Let's wait for the professionals. Best regards

    Ninja Kantei

    @DoTanuki yokai
  8. Anything unsigned post muromachi, naoshis, non-traditionally made blades. I don't know why. They just don't attract me.
  9. As far is I know there is a book called kiyomaro taikan. Here is an article by Markus Sesko about him. : https://markussesko.com/2013/08/14/the-case-of-kiyomaro/ Best regards
  10. The mei is correct as stated : Kozuke Daijo Fujiwara Sukesada Always pleasant to see fully themed koshirae Best regards
  11. If he could only offer an apprenticeship as a living deshi like the one experienced, I'd be on my flight already! Unfortunately, coming to Japan as a lonely loner + having to pay for rent and food in an unpaid apprenticeship is impossible without any big funds. Five years without payment though are in my opinion, nothing for what you will get in return. Knowledge, independence, confidence in yourself and much more. It will be very hard yeah, but you've got to fully commit. I don't understand the upset folks. Today we all have to make the quick $$$ as early as possible, don't we?
  12. In Germany/Europe -> http://www.schwert-couture.de/ They offer all kinds of koshirae restauration work, except for lacquering I think. Best regards
  13. Musashi (Soul?) Asero Toredaano It's obviously a replica from here -> https://www.acerotoledano.com/ Best regards
  14. Very nice finds imo. In need of a little love and restoration, but as a cherry on top of the estate I wouldn't complain! Do you know if he is he planning to keep or sell them? My suggestion for him would be to resubmit at least the kunitoshi and if shoshin, restore it and (if unwanted as stated) reclaim a chunk of the estates price. If he doesn't want to... well here's a german collector with open arms, who would definitely take a shot! I really like the crab themed tosogu as well.
  15. I've been desperately looking for a copy of Ise no toko for ages. Found it on tsuruginoya (https://www.tsuruginoya.com/items/d00022.html), unfortunately they won't ship it overseas. Anyone willing to sell his copy or is any JP local willing to pick it up for me? Of course I will cover all the expenses. Best regards
  16. The mei is: Soshu ju Masashige Best regards
  17. Thank you again Moriyama-san. I agree they share some similarities at first sight, but on closer inspection they are clearly different. Best regards
  18. Thank you Jussi,John and Michael. I can only agree, it's a beautiful naginata
  19. Some more. By the way, the blade is 43.8cm long and the sori is about 2.5cm.
  20. Thank you very much Moriyama-san! Of course John. I just took some quick shots. Will do some better ones, once I find the time. Hopefully there are some details to see. In hand it is much more magnificent. A beautiful nie deki suguha based blade with some ashi and typical konuka hada.
  21. Thank you very much John. I am assuming this isn't the original shirasaya but rather a recap of an old sayagaki? I can imagine that "bestowed by an official of the nabeshima" is possibly true. The saya is decorated with a variation of the nabeshima kamon (myoga ( maybe the mentioned hideshima variant?)) For sure is that hizen was the place of action. Definitely had to be some time after the shimabara rebellion, since tadahiro received the omi daijo title in 1641. Will do further researching into the nabeshima clan. Best regards
  22. For our translators, even though most of it was fairly easy to read. This is what I got so far : Nabeshima ??? Naginata signed Hizen Kuni Ju Omi Daijo Tadahiro Hideshima Ie ( maybe a branch of the Nabeshima clan? ) ??? ( the rest exceeds my current skill level ) Best Regards
