Hi, One thing is certain, it is not a Wakasa no kami Ujifusa blade. Even Ujifusa are more numerous in shinto times i think this one is late Muromachi (mass product?)

Hi, No stamp + made after 1940 = gendaito. the whole workmanship seems confirm this blade is not a showa-tô but a gendai one.

Hi, Sorry for my frankness You are now owner of a nice piece of metal. the positive thing being you can see what is a tsukare utsuri. Low ranked smith + tired blade is not, in my opinion, a good deal.

Hi, Shinshinto swords are not more expensive than the others. All depend by whom is made the blade and its condition; you can find shinshinto blade at a reasonable price (see link below). Sure if you want a Kiyomaro or a Masatsugu the price will be high but not too high in regard of a shodai Tadayoshi or a Inoue Shinkai for example. http://japaneseswords.gotdns.com/100Gendai49.htm

Hi, No, Izumi no kami Kunisada is not the smith who made your sword (he was the father of Inoue Shinkai and lived in Settsu). About your smith i can only say that says Fujishiro. Kawashi Daijo Fujiwara Kunisada should be the first Kunisada. He died in 1673 and he is not called Furukawa Magodayu. It seems Kanetoyo (who says he died in 1660) does not know very much on him.

Hi, He is rated chujo by Fujishiro and he is Ryôwazamono. Worths 250 man in the Toko taikan. I've only one example of his signature (it is the same blade in both books), but the style of engraving looks different and the nakago jiri doesn't match.
