  1. Thank you for your honesty Jacques D. Tho i havent seen any papered blade in the same price range 1000 us dollars. Here i have a blade that isnt gimei i know who the smith is and that he worked in the kanbun era. Sure it isnt in super quality but it isnt that bad to. I know poeple say that you can find nicer wakizashis in this price range but i havnt seen any, so it must be that you people have contacts that i dont. So im happy with what i got.
  2. Thanks for the link peter i will try and make a similar one
  3. Thanks for the replys guys and i really am thankfull that people are honest and dont just say nice blade when they actually dont think so. I am really happy with my buy. I really like the shape and the hamon. And yes i know that im supposed to be careful and i thought i was hehe but apperently not. Well i should have considered that it is a nihonto the sharpest cutters around, And thhis one isnt super sharp so i can just imagine how a newly polished is. :D
  4. 59 reads and not one comment Doesnt anyone got something to say about the blade?
  5. I would be really happy if antone could translate the papers for me. http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq1/brillone/?action=view&current=DSC04932.jpg http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq1/brillone/?action=view&current=DSC04934.jpg
  6. Well here it is tho i havent been able to get tha handle of the shirasaya off cause its so tight. The pictures isnt super, i took them pretty fast earlier today. So did i make a good deal in your opinion? Im realley satisfied. I have also had my first cut from it hahaha. It was when i was trying to get the handle of and i held a piece of cloth around the blade, apperantly i held it to hard casue the blade cut in to the finger just a little bit haha. If anyone can give me any info im really happy about it i will post the shinsa papers in translation section so lets just talk about the blade here. http://s428.photobucket.com/albums/qq1/brillone/
  7. I have the sword at home now i will make a new thread later with pics and so on. One thing tho is that the handle of the shirasaya seems to be really tight cause i couldnt get it off earlier today so hope fully i can get it off tonight.
  8. I found some info on nihontoclubs website but this cant be the one either casue the death date doesnt seem to be right but i says first gen kunisada. http://nihontoclub.com/smiths/KUN940 Then theres this one who is 2nd gen and hade the first one as a teacher. http:// http://nihontoclub.com/smiths/KUN941 Man its so confusing haha
  9. Jacques D That was what i thought also. To bad he is so hard finding info about.
  10. Nobody who can help me with this? And if i understood it right the book i bought is a good starter book?
  11. http://www.nihontocraft.com/Izumi_no_Kami_Kunisada_mei.html I found some info here on nihontocraft is this the kunisada that made my sword? I mean the mei on my sword is Kawachi Daijyo Fujiwara no Kunisada. And as someone wrote earlier KUNISADA KAWACHI NO DAIJÔ [KANBUN 1661 IWASHIRO] SHINTÔ CHÛSAKU He was the tôshô of Aizu, his initial mei was KUNISADA [TN], and he died in the last year of Kanbun (1673). Signature: KAWACHI NO DAIJÔ KUNISADA KUNISADA KAWACHI NO KAMI [JÔKYÔ 1684 IWASHIRO] SHINTÔ CHÛSAKU He is called Furukawa Magodayu, and he died in Genroku Ninen (1689). (Wazamono) Signature: KAWACHI NO KAMI FUJIWARA KUNISADA Wich one of them could it be? The mei has DAIJÔ in it but kanetoyo also wrote that he was called Furukawa Magodayu. If antone could help me with this i will be really thankfull. I have also bought my first book now its The Japanese sword by Kanzan Sato, hopefully i will have it in my mail this week.
