    Thank you "SalaMarcos" for your interest. Nevertheless, sorry to desagree on your assessment. Efugo being " basket" in Japanese, as the design apparently looks much more as a fan (jigami) I doubt it can be described as efugo sukashi..... Having the tsuba in hands, I can garantee it is not "tosho" as the mimi is not as thin a tosho tsuba should be.... Thank you again....

    Hi Tosogu experts, I purchased a Tsuba today without knowing nothing.... Metal : iron with a copper insert at one hitsu ana level. Size: 82 mm X 80 mm What is the design of the two large hitsu ana (Baskets?) It looks quite old but is to really beginning of Edo ? What is the reason for the copper insert ? Is it part of the design? All views on this Tsuba are warmly welcome. Thank you

    Thank you Sébastien and Steven. Does it mean that the Tsubako Katzuyuki has stated that the tsuba is "from a design of Kano Tan'Yu Morinobu"? I will try to detect the Kano school paint with the design of the plum tree on my tsuba....

    Hi, I just bought this tsuba. Omote side is signed Katzu Yuki if I refer to my books (please confirm). But what about Ura side ? I have deciphered one Kanji as being YU in the middle. But what about the 2 other ones ? __YU__ + Gourd Please, I need some help Thank you Bruno

It is always very helpful to have someone knowing Japanese cultural angles @ Brian: I would strongly support you in having Ford giving some clues, especially when we come to metal work. @ Peter: Should you find the artist names... You are more than welcome. In addition, I scanned the Tsuba for an other metal analysis....

    Thank you for your comments. This tsuba (modern or not) shows great skills in inlaying flat shakudo in a very tense suaka base. The shakudo mimi in addition make me think the tsubako wasn't a "beginner". Anyway I would like to know who is that artist if any one can help. Thank you again
