Yoshimichi Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 This is another tsuba I recently acquired from a private collection. This piece was purchased over 30 years ago, and has been in the same private collection since then. It was once part of the Chas. P. Peak Collection. The tsuba is iron and gold and appears to be in very good condition. I am not sure what fable or folklore story this represents, but it is a very interesting and fun motif. The tsuba measures approx. 3-3/16" (8.0cm) high by 3" (7.6cm) wide. It comes with a pillowed box. Price: $675, plus buyer pays shipping and insurance costs. Payment accepted by Paypal, cashier's check, or money order only. If this item sells on NMB, I will be making a 10% donation ($67.50) to NMB. If you have any questions, please email me at: besheehan@aol.com. Regards, Bill E. Sheehan (Yoshimichi)
Greg F Posted November 30, 2015 Report Posted November 30, 2015 Hi Bill, Nice tsuba. I like the facial expression! All the best. Greg

Yoshimichi Posted December 2, 2015 Author Report Posted December 2, 2015 Dear Manuel: Thanks so much for identifying the tsuba theme. I will have to look up the story/fable. Regards, Bill E. Sheehan
Yoshimichi Posted December 3, 2015 Author Report Posted December 3, 2015 Sold. This and the Kaga Kinko tsuba went to the same buyer. We reached an agreement on a package price. Thanks for everyone's comments. Time for an appreciative donation to the NMB. Best regards, Bill E. Sheehan
