Jean Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 I am glad to announce that our French member Serge Degore (aka Kitsune) is going to publish at the end of the year the third and last volume - Shinshinto- in French idioma (I know that all our members are fluent in French ) about Nihonto. Although unknown to the public, Serge is probably one of the first French experts in Nihonto (not like me). You can see his credentials on his site (6th dan of Battodo) The First two volumes - Koto and Shinto - are still available. This book will have 208 pages with a Diary of around 1330 smiths, names are in Kanji and Romanji, giving the whereabouts, period and rating. Subscription fees are 30€ + Shipping costs Full reimbursment guarantee should the book not be published Subscription shall be closed by September, 30th - after the book price will be 48€. (I am personnally subscribing for 20 copies for our association) Here is the link : http://eej.free.fr/ were you can upload the "Bulletin de souscription Shinshinto" Down the page form, you have Serge's Contact, Address, e-mails. Payments shall have probably to be sent by bank transfer for foreigners. I have the Shinto and Koto book, so does Brian. Believe me they are very good and easy to handle. Kitsune speaks English of course :D Quote
Brian Posted July 25, 2012 Report Posted July 25, 2012 HIGHLY recommended, even though in French. The other 2 volumes are wonderful, filled with info, and Serge has a huge amount of knowledge. I highly recommend these to everyone, and am eagerly awaiting the 3rd volume thanks to Jean For that price, they are very cheap. Grab a bargain and learn some French  Brian Quote
Jean Posted July 25, 2012 Author Report Posted July 25, 2012 Here is a sample, try your French, quite easy as most terms are Japanese and Serge uses short sentences http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?i ... 17230n.jpg Quote
DirkO Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Hi Jean, Does he accept any other payment methodes than cheques? (transfers, VISA, Paypal,....) - coz I can't seem to find any? Quote
NihontoEurope Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Hello, It looks to be a very nice layout. Would it be possible to get a few samples with high-res single page images to view photo details? /Martin Quote
Jean Posted July 26, 2012 Author Report Posted July 26, 2012 As a rule of thumb, all questions should be address to him His e-mail address is at the bottom of the subscription form. Dirk, He can of course. You shall have to ask him directly his preferred way of Payment. Martin, Same for you. ask him directly through e-mail examples of high res pages. If you prefer, I can post a page of his koto book. I think it will be of the same quality. Quote
NihontoEurope Posted July 26, 2012 Report Posted July 26, 2012 Jean, Either way, Kotou will be fine. I think it may boost sales if it is of good quality and it is posted here instead of sent to a personal mailbox. Hence I was asking. /Martin Quote
Jean Posted August 3, 2012 Author Report Posted August 3, 2012 3 scans I did of the Koto volume (I don't intend to make others). BTW, pictures are 1OO% better than in the Nihon to Koza Quote

Brian Posted December 8, 2012 Report Posted December 8, 2012 I have just received my copy, with a HUGE thanks to my friend Jean. Merci Beaucoup! Guys, this is a must have. Serge is really putting out a quality series, and even with my knowledge of French being close to nil, I can get through about 80% of this book. The info is excellent, the pics are wonderful and it is chock a block full of info, photos and oshigata. Don't hesitate to get all three volumes, they are a bargain. This isn't some coffee-table book, it has info you won't easily find. Drop Serge an email, get your copies while they last and tell him the NMB sent you Brian Quote
