jason_mazzy Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 http://cgi.ebay.com/A901-Japanese-hangi ... 439ec79809 What is the translation of the sword's mei? I wonder if it was a custom piece done for someones ancestral blade. Quote
Ted Tenold Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 The mei on the sword is Iga (no) Kami Fujiwara Kinmichi. Interesting piece, but could use a profession remounting. Properly done would cost several hundred bucks. Quote
Toryu2020 Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Not a bad get at 56 bucks - Though I am of the opinion people had better handwriting 120 years ago... -t Quote
george trotter Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Nice scroll...pity it's not dated. I wonder who Matsumoto was?...I like his personal name "Toko" which means "sword love" (must be made up?).This could be an example of a person's life/work being dictated by the name given to him in childhood...as in if you name your child "Jeeves", you're pretty sure what his career will be... Regards, George. Quote
