Dragon Fake Tsuba?

Hello,

I still have a lot to learn and I'am wondering if this is a fake. I'm not sure, but I have a feeling it's real. Even though the quality is rather low. The faded inlay isn't too bad. What do you think?

No red flags that I can see. Seems like it has been mounted and has plenty of wear. As you note, it is not fine quality, but no reasons to think that it is a modern fake.

The iron of this TSUBA has some ductility as we can see from the TAGANE ATO in the NAKAGO ANA, so it is not cast. The cross-hatching to fix the gold NUNOME was definitely made by hand, so, as stated above, it is not a beauty, but I think authentic.

Stylistically, it has HIZEN traits for me.

Nanban or Hizen with two "Rain Dragons" - rain dragons generally have the split or dual tails.

I have a similar style - they could only afford a single tail and didn't bother to dig out the ura side!
