Matsunoki Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 I’ve got “followed content” set up to send me an email when new post is added. Has always worked perfectly until…. They have suddenly stopped Notifications still appear Ive checked my profile and they (emails)are still “ticked”. I haven’t manually changed anything. Whats up? Anyone else? @Brian….glad to hear you are back home. All the best. Quote
Brian Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 Can't be anything this side. Probably something your side or your isp blocking them. Knowing the situation there, probably OFCOM blocking them to save you UK guys from weapons I'll check things my side, but try and whitelist admin(at)nihontomessageboard.com and ask your isp to do it too. Or re-add the email notification settings. Things like this tend to be temporary, Ip's get blocked and unblocked and spam defences change. I'd guess wait it out. 1 Quote
Matsunoki Posted August 27 Author Report Posted August 27 Not sure what “whitelist” means (IT Stone Age) but I’ve added admin@nihontomesaageboard.com to my isp email contacts, deleted and re added “emails” in my NMB profile for followed content, checked spam and generally confused myself. I’ll wait and see what happens for a few days. Sorry to trouble you Brian. Hope things go well for you. 1 Quote
Brian Posted August 27 Report Posted August 27 If you right click an email in your inbox, you can usually add that email to your safe sender list or something similar to that wording. This tells your mail program never to block that email address or consider it spam. ISP's can do the same their side, but not sure if they do it on request. But it prevents their server from discarding it. 1 Quote
AndyJP Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 Same for me. The last email notification I received was on the 24th August... Quote
Matsunoki Posted August 28 Author Report Posted August 28 @Brian Somethings gone wrong somewhere. Thats two of us. My email is otherwise working normally Nothing going to spam from NMB Ive put the admin email address and the brian@ address into my safe senders in the ISP mail and my mail app. Deleted and readded email from my notification settings twice. I do recall you saying some time ago that something might happen that could affect the UK accessing NMB …..some sort of compliance? @AndyJP …..are you with BT email? Quote
AndyJP Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 @Matsunoki my email is outlook. Other emails are coming through okay, just seems to be the nmb notification ones that have stopped. Quote
Matsunoki Posted August 28 Author Report Posted August 28 @AndyJP Im no ITexpert but Outlook is the “app”you use Who is your actual Internet provider or email provider? Quote
Brian Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 The people who supply yu your internet connection... or email account. If it's gmail or yahoo etc...then you are out of luck, not much you can do with them. They have filters etc that you can't really get around. But then check in your spam or junk folder. Quote
Brian Posted August 28 Report Posted August 28 There does seem to be an issue with the server sending emails. I am trying to get to the bottom of it. 1 3 Quote
Brian Posted August 29 Report Posted August 29 According to the hosts, we had indeed reached a daily sending limit and outgoing mails were paused. They have reset it and they should be going again, but I need to look at upgrading to allow for more mails etc. You can imagine how many notification emails go out daily. Please let me know if you are once again receiving mails. 2 2 Quote
