Navy Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 Hi all; would you please help me translating this hozon paper cover? The 1st left column should be the Nbthk designation, but others? Thanks in advance. Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 As Jean says, the whole thing is the complete address of the organization. Are you wanting this in Romanized form? 1 Quote
sabiji Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 somewhat abbreviated: 1-12-9 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, 130-0015 Tokyo 1 Quote
Navy Posted June 2 Author Report Posted June 2 Thanks gentlemen, so nothing added to the blade description 👍 Below the pic of the whole paper, which in some way I have been able to translate. 1 Quote
SteveM Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 No, nothing about the blade other than the type of blade (katana), attribution, and the length. This is normal for Hozon and Tokubetsu Hozon certificates. Unfortunately, they never mention anything about the blade, or the conclusions drawn by the shinsa team. 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted June 2 Report Posted June 2 We are often forced into some kind of guessing game, looking behind the words. For example the attribution on your paperwork is Uda, but it does not say 'Den' Uda 伝宇多; in other words they are pretty sure it is an Uda blade. What is the meaning of DEN - Tosogu - Nihonto Message Board 1 Quote
