Winchester Posted January 1, 2024 Report Posted January 1, 2024 In reviewing a tsuba with a moon theme for Stephen’s post, this F/K, Menuki and tsuka handle were all together when I purchased and am wondering if folks would kindly share their thoughts and feedback. Still getting better on my photography skills but have a long way to go! Thank you in advance. 1 Quote
Dan tsuba Posted January 1, 2024 Report Posted January 1, 2024 Hello Brian, I don't know much about anything, but I think your tsuka is beautiful! Chrysanthemum (kiku) themes abound! Man, I wish I had something that nice! Hopefully, other members will tell you more about the tsuka and mei! With respect, Dan 1 Quote
Winchester Posted January 2, 2024 Author Report Posted January 2, 2024 Hi Dan, Thank you for your kind note. It is a subtle appreciation I have for this tsuka, in person the detail is a bit more fine, but I think overall (at best) it is a modest to low/mid-level quality, but that doesn't matter too much to me as I personally enjoy it. Just trying to learn more about the time period, signature, and so on. Best to you in collecting and enjoy--been reading your posts too and glad you found a hobby you are excited about. I find it peaceful and enjoyable. Brian 1 Quote
MauroP Posted January 2, 2024 Report Posted January 2, 2024 The signature should be 政行 - Masayuki, but I was unable to find a Masayuki written that way. 1 Quote
Guest Simon R Posted January 5, 2024 Report Posted January 5, 2024 The chrysanthemum menuki look very similar to a pair I picked up recently. (I had to remove heavy verdigris in two areas where the ito had crossed over them whilst mounted.) Quote
kissakai Posted January 5, 2024 Report Posted January 5, 2024 Would you let me know, how did you remove the Verdigris? 1 Quote
