Yves55 Posted April 19, 2023 Report Posted April 19, 2023 Together with tsuba "Plum and Pine Sukashi" and tsuba "4 Leaves, 8 Holes,..." (see topics) came 1 other small tsuba. Dimensions: 6,27 x 5,05 x 0,44 (septa-dai) / 0,37 (Mimi) cm Weight: 82 grams Sanmai-awase: thin plates of shakudo (?) with a core of copper (for what I can see...) And that's all for today. Enjoy the pictures. 😉 3 Quote

Brian Posted April 27, 2023 Report Posted April 27, 2023 Gimei of what? Yves, can you feel a ridge with your fingernail where the surface overlaps? Trying to determine if it is indeed a thin metal layer, or patina overwash. Looks like I can see the seam though. Can't really place it. I would have said modern, but that would be a lot of work to foil a modern tsuba. Hmm. It looks good, but would really benefit from a new patina. Quote
Infinite_Wisdumb Posted April 27, 2023 Report Posted April 27, 2023 "Gimei" - Joke from another thread. Whats going to happen here is that people will chime in, and the experts of the board will disagree and the OP will likely leave just as confused as when he started. Quote

Hello Jesse, having no replies is what confused me. What eventually will follow is only learning, and not for me alone. 😉 Quote
