Bridges Posted December 17, 2022 Report Posted December 17, 2022 I searched Dawson’s reference guide and found nothing in the court official section. This would definitely be a neat addition to someone’s collection if it is legit. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234814415947?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=ZeLaYyzXTCO&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=5b5Igx0HQ7e&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Quote
Grey Doffin Posted December 17, 2022 Report Posted December 17, 2022 I doubt this is legit; looks Chinese or another type of fake to me. Grey 1 1 Quote
Bridges Posted December 17, 2022 Author Report Posted December 17, 2022 @Grey Doffinthanks for the input Grey, that’s unfortunate Quote
Tensho Posted December 17, 2022 Report Posted December 17, 2022 Seller is known to sell fake items. They had a Tachi listed a while back that they dated to be 1800s(by them) I think it was an early model Hanwei. I told them about it, can't remember their reply but left it up with the same description. Sold for almost $2k. Fools in their money will soon be departed. Quote
Bridges Posted December 17, 2022 Author Report Posted December 17, 2022 @Tensho is there a list of names in the NMB with sellers that forge items? That would be very beneficial Quote
Tensho Posted December 18, 2022 Report Posted December 18, 2022 As far as I'm aware they're just consignment items. And they probably have an "expert" that tells them what they think they are. As far as I'm aware there isn't a list. I think there should be though. Pretty much anyone that sells swords of any kind as a business on eBay I would be leary of. Definitely be on HIGH ALERT and study the pictures carefully. 1 Quote
Grey Doffin Posted December 18, 2022 Report Posted December 18, 2022 Hi Noah, Actually, I think a list of sellers of fakes on ebay would be counterproductive. As soon as you think you're safe because you're dealing with a seller who isn't on the list, you are vulnerable. There is no substitute for serious study; knowledge is your only hope. Grey 2 Quote
Brian Posted December 18, 2022 Report Posted December 18, 2022 Agree. Plus what a minefield that would be. Ask...ask...ask. It's the best way to navigate this field. Quote
