Lorenzo Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Hello. I got a couple of deer horn with perfect size for a daisho katanakake. Can you post please some pictures of decent katanakake made with deer horns to use as reference? Quote

Carlo Giuseppe Tacchini Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Lorenzo, all very good samples but the one posted by Moriyama San is my preferred. Looks like a fusion between a Suiseki and a Katanakake. If you can put your hands on walnut roots, maybe you can do even better. Please keep us updated on the result. Quote
Lorenzo Posted May 22, 2009 Author Report Posted May 22, 2009 Moriyama san hontou ni arigatou gozaimashita. Carlo, I think so. Beautiful! I must say I was thinking about a lacquered and geometric structure, but that root looks interesting too Quote
Henry Wilson Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 From the link Aoi Arts says: "It is near to the event reindeer of the same deer department take an active part" I don't know what that means but on the line above I am tempted! Can some one translate? Quote

Can some one translate? He wanted to say that ...... - The Christmas was coming soon. - A reindeer takes an active part in the event. - A reindeer belongs to the same deer family. - So, have the deer stand at hand and appreciate the piece.
