Judment of military court in Raboul on May 24, 1946..

 

 

Among those convicted is General" Ito Takeo", whose sword a Kajiyama yasunori,aka Yasutoku....

 

 

in rare 94 Gunto Koshirae

Volker just in case you weren't aware, Lt. Gen. Takeo's death sentence as a war criminal was never carried out.  He died in Japan in 1965

Thank you, yes he was pardoned shortly after death sentence....

 

 

Own his Yasukuni-to with Koshirae and Tassel.

 

I still find it historically interesting, to read such a military judment..

Thats a very nice sword to have Volker.  Would live to see some pics unless I have missed them on another thread? 

 

I have done a LOT of research into Australia's War Crimes Trials 1945-51 and own a Teruhide brought back from Rabaul by the first Aus. Judge Advocate and later prosecutor Capt. Stanford Asprey.

 

Again, out of interest, a pic of Lt Gen. Takeo in custody of Aus. Forces.....maybe the same sword?

He probably never imagined that his surrendered Gunto would one day end up in Volker's sword collection in Germany. Lol

According to the statement of the former, long time owner, friend and gentleman of the old shool,

 

it is a miracle that this sword survived this war, at all  researching where it was used with the wearer....!
