hddennis Posted May 21, 2021 Report Posted May 21, 2021 Even though I know this is a modern piece I still like it cause I'm a cat lover and think it depicts the subject well and I'd like to know what the signature says. Thank You, Howard Dennis Quote
uwe Posted May 24, 2021 Report Posted May 24, 2021 All I can imagine is “猫” (neko = cat) and probably “甫源” (not sure about the reading)?! 1 1 Quote
John A Stuart Posted May 24, 2021 Report Posted May 24, 2021 That okimono looks like it was carved yesterday. Perhaps Toshihara but to me just as likely Fu Yuan. By the way Fu 甫 can mean, ;just now'. John 1 Quote

John Thanks John, I purchased this from a consignment shop as a small collection with cabinet that appears to have been collected in the middle of the last century. The two okimono's seem to be the last pieces added. They are large and total almost a pound of ivory. Howard Dennis Quote
