John A Stuart Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 What happened to Ford's forum? I hope we haven't lost another resource. John Quote
Brian Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 It started with a corrupt sql user table, and that led to the whole forum going down with errors. Last I checked, Ford and Lorenzo have been very busy trying to restore the database, but there have been hassles with restoring from a backup, and they are doing their best. These forums make me petrified when problems occur. They are so very technical, and most of us admin are so clueless that it causes headaches just thinking about it. Yes..I live in constant fear I am sure Ford will update us shortly, and I hope they will be back soon. Brian Quote
remzy Posted December 24, 2008 Report Posted December 24, 2008 Going cold turkey on the Brush is not easy.. Quote
Chriso Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 Just as an aside. I'm also getting the same error message when I attempt to log onto the 'Token Forum' and the ' Tosogu Forum' Hope It's not an indication of things to come!!!!!!!! Chriso Quote
Brian Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 Chris, Unfortunately both of those other forums have been closed permanently and deliberately due to various reasons by the owners, and it is not technical problems causing the errors. It's not always easy or a lot of fun running them. Brian Quote
Chriso Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 So sad, Lets do our best to keep this one Kosha. Chriso Quote
Brian Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 It's back Note the following post: I just ask you all, please, to do not register again, neither try to post or doing anything else than stay tuned and wait for me to announce the reopening of the forum. Can't log in right now, but I see progress is there. Well done to the FTIB team. Welcome back. Brian Quote
Ford Hallam Posted January 13, 2009 Report Posted January 13, 2009 thanks Brian. Lorenzo reckons we'll be back in the game by this time tomorrow and without any losses to the database, which was the biggest concern. Details on my blog Thanks everyone for your patience ...normal ( whatever that might be! ) service will be resumed shortly. Regards, Ford Quote
Ford Hallam Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 We're back... I want to say that all the credit for this work in getting us back on-line must go to Lorenzo...that was a great job, old chap  :trophy: So...If you've registered before but not posted here you will have to re-register. Sorry, but as Lorenzo had to recreate each account of the posters the extra work was simply not reasonable. All other members, those of you who have been active on the forum, have active accounts now....but you can't log in yet. Send Admin an email requesting your password. Then you can log in and change the password to suit yourself. You can add your avatar and signature etc. and get this place looking like home again. If anyone has any difficulties please let us know and we'll ( I mean Lorenzo :smartass: ) sort it out. 'Cos he's brilliant :notworthy: Anyway, It's good to be back and hope you're all ready for a creative and productive year.... :cheers2: Quote
Lorenzo Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Thanks guys, well as Brian says this kind of sh... happens, so all of you, if you plan to have a website or a forum, remember to do always your own backups and do not trust automatic services of the providers, those simply sucks. :x Quote
