Pete Klein Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Steve -- those are the same tsuba. The exact same water drop is missing in both and all the seppa dai / nakago ana characteristics are identical. Quote
Brian Posted November 29, 2008 Author Report Posted November 29, 2008 Here comes a new pic with "your" and "my" Tsuba. I don't remember from which book I have it.When I was creating my private Tosogo-mei.database,now with around 5000 entries.. Likely the tsuba in Ludolf's database is the MFA one. At least now you know the source Ludolf When you say "I had it papered" I assume now that you meant in your notes on this one, you had it down as papered? Regards, Brian Edit to add: That sounds like a great database you have created there. Hope oneday you will consider putting it online Quote
Stever Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Hi Brian, Precisely the source of my confusion, thanks! cheers, /steve Quote
pcfarrar Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 I have a wakizashi with fuchi kashira signed Omori Teruhide. The design is a dragon emerging from waves. Anyone have any thoughts on the validity of the mei? Thanks, Peter Quote
Jacques Posted July 11, 2009 Report Posted July 11, 2009 Hi, http://www.toban-art.de/img/omori/omori2.html Quote
Soshin Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Thanks for that Ludolf. Very interesting...that one is signed on the left of the seppa dai and you say it papered to Omori Teruhide?I wish this set were mine instead of posting for someone else  Here is some more info from the owner. This isn't just a tsuba..it is a daisho of 2 x tsuba, 2 x fuchi and kashira sets, 1 x kozuka and 1 x kogai Menuki are gold crayfish and likely another good school. These are the only pics I have for now. Some variances in the mei on the various fittings. Workmanship on all looks very good indeed. The owner sends his thanks for the comments and assistance so far. Brian Thank you Brian for posting the whole set of tosogu. They are wonderful even if they are gimei. Yours truly, David (Soshin) Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Greetings, Anyone have any thoughts on the validity of the mei? Sketchy imo. Pics of workmanship? Hi, http://www.toban-art.de/img/omori/omori2.html Jacques, what is the significance of posting this link? Quote
Jacques Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Hi, Jacques, what is the significance of posting this link? Just for reference, this one is papered. http://www.toban-art.de/img/omori/omori.html Quote
Martin Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Just for reference, this one is papered. http://www.toban-art.de/img/omori/omori.html ... and was discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3325&p=24611&hilit=omori#p24611 Cheers, Quote
nagamaki - Franco Posted July 12, 2009 Report Posted July 12, 2009 Hi Martin, thanks for refresher link. For some odd reason I had remembered this set somewhat differently, a demonstration of how our perspective changes with experience and time. Quote
