John A Stuart Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I just received this e-mail. I did not order anything from Germany that I can recall. Is it BS? John Guten Tag, leider konnten wir ihren Paket gesendet am 01. Juli nicht zustellen, da die Adresse des Empfangers nicht existiert. John A Stuart Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 Hi Stephen, I get some weird stuff lately. A couple have told me my domain is sold and to contact them for money being made from it, now. This wasn't e-bay. I order so much sometimes I forget. July 1st though. Naw, a scam, I'm sure. I shall ignore. John
jrs Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I don't know if you got a good translation or not but I just happened to have a German friend with me who translated for me. He says SCAM. Do not respond. James
jrs Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I've been getting the same expired domain email at work.
Mit freundlichen Grussen, Ihre UPS Hello, unfortunately we couldn't deliver the parcel sent on July 1'st because the address of the recipient doesn't exist. Please print out the delivery notice that's attached to this mail and pick up the parcel in person. If that's a scam, maybe it's one coming from an airline?
John A Stuart Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 There was no delivery noticed attached. I ran the address abenaquicarriers.com and it is a long haul carrier for bulk products. It was from tevgr@abenaquicarriers.com John
kusunokimasahige Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 One for the 419 board! KM some rules: never open anything attached to emails from anyone you dont know. Always check every message from ebay through IP check Never go into any questions from anyone you dont know to be legit. Always be very careful with every email you get from PayPal, the scammers are inventive. Never react from your own email adress if you suspect a scammer t work... lots of anonymous IP email adresses to reply with... If you get a login request (spoof) e-mail NEVER login through the link provided, always go directly to the original site (PayPal for instance) through another web page in a new browser window. This way you can check wether the email you got was a valid request by the organisation Always LOG OUT of ebay using the appropriate window after using it, log out EVERY time. Here are some more tips and links: (by MIOKA (E-bay)) Fraud Links (revised & condensed) If you FEEL that you were defrauded or misrepresented, IN MY HONEST OPINION, the following is a list of steps/measures available to get the Seller to perform (get item or refund). Do not post Non-Positive Feedback until you have properly filed your Complaint with eBay's SafeHarbor and have allowed enough time for Seller communication and correction. Contact the Seller via the eBay Message Forwarding System by clicking on their # after the User ID or by using the "ask Seller a question" on the Auction Page. If communication breaks down or the Seller becomes unresponsive then: Within 90 days, File Non-Performing/Shipping Seller by contacting Rules and Safety using the WebForm. Select in the Fields >Transaction Problems -> I am a Buyer -> I sent money but haven't received the item. Press "Continue" button, bottom right of next page, press "Contact Support" button, enter auction # and complaint in message area, press "Send to Support" button. http://pages.ebay.com/help/basics/select-RS.html If you paid via Paypal, File a Buyer Complaint and Request a chargeback within 30 days of Payment. http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cm ... nt-outside File the Online Fraud Report/Claim/Complaint w/ eBay's SafeHarbor from 30-60 days of End of Auction (EOA). http://crs.ebay.com/aw-cgi/ebayisapi.dll?crsstartpage File Mail Fraud Complaint w/ US Postal Service (USPS) after 30 days and up to apx 1 year. http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fr ... rdered.htm Or download the PDF file, PS Form 8165 from my "ME" page.
