mtexter Posted August 20, 2020 Report Posted August 20, 2020 It's sad that the population of Japan is aging so much. Certain communities can't sustain themselves as the older generations die off, and their kids move to the cities. Thanks for sharing the article! 1 Quote
Babu Posted August 21, 2020 Report Posted August 21, 2020 This is a global phenomenon gentlemen. Whilst travelling Europe around 2000-2007 (long trip) I discovered whole villages and towns all over Europe completely run down and abandoned. Eventually the govt of that country claims the abandoned buildings or land and eventually sells cheaply to foreign investors. Some of the more remote places do not boast mains water or perhaps even main electricity. The children want to better themselves and leave for the city and the older generations sadly eventually die off. When the last homeowner dies the village or town dies with them. 1 1 Quote
