If your correct it's Hojusai Hirochika also known as Uchikoshi Hirochika Mito school. Although I cannot confirm that mei. Others will help you

Looking at the workmanship and at least three of his mei including the one in the Bigalow collection its doesn't seem to conform but I may be very wrong.

The signatures are all Hirochika (弘親).

Original post is the 宝寿斎 (Hōjūsai).

The in the two tsuba in Adam's post is 紫雲斎 (Shiunsai).

Both are known of Hirochika. He also used at least two other names.

None of this guarantees the validity of any of these signatures. I'm just reading what's in Wakayama's reference.

Also, the style of the last kanji (斎) is so strange that its not recognizable to me. The only possible alternative I can think of is 堂 (), which Hirochika also used, but the kanji doesn't look like either. However, since its fairly consistent across all of the tsuba in this thread, I'm taking a leap of faith and assuming they are all intended to be sai (斎). I await correction if this reading is wrong.

Apologies I was not cross referencing the Go of each tsuba used for reference, just the artists name kanji.

He used many Go as suggested.

Thank you Adam and Steve.

I will read it as Hojusai Hirochika than. I had examples of Hirochika writing "Hojusai" that way. But was not sure about "親".
