Another Signed Blade from WWII

Wanting too see if I could get another translation of a signed WWII sword. It has characters on both sides as well as a stamp on it.

To me it looks like Kanetsugu 兼継 and 昭和十六年 Unfortunately I am not well versed in WWII era smiths, but there are few Kanetsugu listed with these characters.

Jussi is right Kanetsugu. I guess one of these two smith (from Markus book):

 

KANETSUGU (兼継), Shōwa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – “Kanetsugu” (兼継), real name Maekawa Gen´ichi (前川源一), born January 15th 1904, he worked as guntō smith and died March 9th 1951

KANETSUGU (兼継), Shōwa (昭和, 1926-1989), Gifu – “Kanetsugu” (兼継), real name Maekawa Yoshiki (前川喜儀), born March 5th 1913, he worked as guntō smith and died September 9th 1964

 

But in any case, non traditional made blade.

This - 昭和十六年 - comes out to "1941", and the stamp is the "Seki" stamp. By '41, it would represent smiths working in the Seki prefecture and/or for the Seki swordsmith guild
